Challenges faced by those living with anxiety disorders – Part 1

To a person with anxiety disorders, every day is a challenge.
Many times anxiety is coupled with depression and just getting out of bed for some people can be one of the hardest things they do every day.
Anxiety disorders can be exhausting for the person that has them. Their entire day is loaded with uncertainty and sometimes fear.
If they can sleep most likely they’re going to have nightmares. If they can’t sleep this just adds extra anxiety and stress to the next day.
Insecurity is also a large part of an anxiety disorder. Although the person tries to cope, they can sometimes become very paranoid. It sort of like yes they are out to get you, and there’s a good chance of going to get you.
Stress is a major part of everyday. Sometimes the stress can cause other trouble and conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder. This is where a person repeats certain actions over and over and it can take up a major part of their day and life.
Many times people with anxiety disorders are fearful of new things. The question "what if? " plays in a major part of their day. What if I fail? What if he or she doesn’t like me? What if I can’t keep my promise? What if something goes wrong?
These are all questions that swirl around inside the head of someone with an anxiety disorder.
On good days they can leave the house. They may even go shopping. The entire time they’re traveling to the store and back, they are a wreck . Are they going to make it to the store and back ? what if I can’t find what I’m looking for? What if it’s crowded can I deal with all the people?
One of the first things a person with anxiety disorders automatically does when getting to the store is make a mental note of where the exits and closest bathrooms are. Just in case.
Many people with anxiety disorders have a tendency to have over active bladders or different stages of colitis, irritable bowel syndrome. They may have to make frequent trips to the bathroom.
Hyper ventilation is also quite common. When you get nervous you tend to breathe differently then when you are calm and relaxed. Sometimes this constricted breathing can cause chest pains known as an angina.
Eating can also be challenge. Many times you’ll be too anxious to eat and other times it seems like you can’t stop. This irregularity in eating habits can cause stomach distress and intestinal disorders.
